Work History: Attorney and Principal, Johnson, Christopher, Javore & Cochran Inc., 1981-Present; Attorney, Bexar County Legal Aid, 1979-81; Since 1981, practice devoted primarily to litigation of disputes involving construction, contracts, insurance, and consumer disputes. In connection with construction disputes, has represented owners (on both residential and commercial construction), contractors, structural engineers, geotechnical engineers, subcontractors, developers, lenders, and home warranty programs. Construction disputes include claims for construction and design defects, breach of contract and warranty actions, RCLA and Deceptive Trade Practices Act claims, and mechanic's and materialmen lien claims. Has represented consumers on first party insurance claims for breach of the Texas Insurance Code and the duty of "good faith and fair dealing." Served as counsel for plaintiffs and defendants in mold claims. Extensive experience in drafting and litigating contracts; Alternative Dispute Resolution Experience: Served as counsel, mediator, and arbitrator in several hundred construction, contract, consumer, commercial transactions, manufactured housing, personal injury, and insurance disputes. Through March 2012 has been appointed as arbitrator in excess of 150 cases and has mediated over 500 disputes.

All Arbitrations/Mediations are billed at $2,600 per day. Charges for study time, hearings, deliberations, and drafting of awards and orders will be billed at $325/Hour. Travel expenses will be billed for arbitrations outside of San Antonio. A cancellation fee equal to the product of the per diem rate and one-half the number of days scheduled for the arbitration may be assessed for any cancellation within ten business days of the arbitration date. (e.g. the cancellation fee for a two-party arbitration scheduled to last four days would be: 2 x $2,600.00=$5,200.00).
