Experience

Andrew L. Kerr is a partner in Strasburger's Litigation Section. In over 30 years of practice, Mr. Kerr has handled appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the Texas Supreme Court and many of the Texas courts of appeals. His appellate work has included subject areas such as ERISA, tortious interference with contract, insurance, bankruptcy, premises liability, administrative agency jurisdiction, suretyship, construction, oil and gas, consumer protection, eminent domain and many other types of disputes, both commercial and tort. Mr. Kerr is a member of the American Bar Association's Council of Appellate Lawyers.; Mr. Kerr also has an active trial practice and has prosecuted and defended numerous lawsuits in state, federal and bankruptcy courts. He has handled a wide range of cases, including those involving real property disputes, contract disputes, partnership and corporate dissolutions and disputes, professional malpractice, franchise and distributor relationships, premises liability, products liability, will contests, breach of fiduciary duty, antitrust violations, construction disputes, oil and gas title disputes, surface and subsurface damages and environmental contamination.

He is also a Fellow of the American and San Antonio Bar Foundations. Mr. Kerr was a member of the Texas State Bar Minimum Continuing Legal Education Committee from 1999 to 2006 and served as Vice-Chair of that committee. He formerly served as a member of the Texas State Bar Pattern Jury Charge Committee on Business, Consumer and Employment Law and chaired that committee’s work on fiduciary duty issues. He is a former director and administrative vice-president of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel. Mr. Kerr currently serves as a trustee of the TADC's political action committee, as a director of the San Antonio Bar Association and as a director of the Texas Access to Justice Foundation.; Mr. Kerr served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force before entering private practice in 1980.
